Offset Lithography

Posted on 03:43 by cena
Examples of Offset lithographic printing and how the process works, some examples I came across which really helped get my head around it when researching for the info-pack.

Lithography is probably the most common form of commercial printing and as I understand, 'offset' refers to the idea of offset rollers, and the process being in stages, with the paper going through rollers positively and negatively, basically a process working in layers and with the paper going through separate rollers in separate processes. With each station applying a different process colour along with any specials afterwards. Kind of like silk-screen printing but on a conveyor belt.

Also some photos here of the Pressision visit where I saw print processes in person. Litho is used for high quantity and high run print jobs with consistent quality and efficiency.
