YANKO TSVETKOV - MAPPING STEREOTYPES

Posted on 13:49 by cena

As a design student, I've seen Swiss design plenty of times and everyone regards Swiss as reliable and rich but in particular I aim to find out simply why they're reliable, what regional situations, by choice or not by choice shaped the countries psyche and intentions when it came to the Swiss style.

These stereotypes - a project by Yanko Tsvetkov are maybe a bit dismissive and kind of offensive but these are all over the web and it's interesting to see other countries interpretations and stereotypes of other countries, although these are in general terms and not in specialisms such as industry and design it's still interesting and relevant and worth a look.

I've paid special attention to stereotypes of the swiss, it helped to paint a picture of contemporary stereotypes of the Swiss and also kind of backs up stereotypes still exist in what is today arguably a global culture with so much stuff overlapping.

A major underlying theme of my reseach is simply a countrys culture, in reality and through stereotypes.
